Dowpharma and Cygnus Technogies have released a new kit for detecting host cell proteins in proteins expressed in Pseudomonas fluorescens.
"This new kit will enable users of Dowpharma Pfnex Expression Technology to routinely test their products for the presence of host cell protein with a fully validated method," said Charles Squires, R&D director, Dowpharma.
Genevac has released Dri-Pure technology that enables rapid sample drying with no loss of sample and no-cross contamination due to solvent bumping. The technology is available for all current models of Genevac centrifugal evaporators, from the EZ-2 and HT-4X to the Mega 1200.
Guava Technologies has released the EasyCyte Mini designed to make flow cytometry accessible to anyone in the laboratory. Equipped with 3-colour detection, the EasyCyte Mini has all the functionality of the EasyCyte 96-well platform, but in an affordable single sample format for researchers with lower throughput needs.
Olympus Life and Materials Science Europa has introduce a new multi-laser combiner for its FluoView FV1000 confocal laser scanning microscope (cLSM). The laser combiner enables up to six lasers to be used in one system, providing a wider range of available wavelengths for high-resolution, confocal live cell imaging.
PerkinElmer has introduced the Clarus 560 D gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) to offer another option for lower-volume laboratories' needs.
'The Clarus 560 D GC/MS offers increased productivity through state-of-the-art electronics, the fastest scanning rates to yield the most accurate data, the widest mass range and the latest in reporting capabilities," said Eric Ziegler, chromatography business unit manager for PerkinElmer.
PerkinElmer has also introduced a range advanced cellular researching and drug discovery technologies with a range of reagents for its AequoScreen and Lance Ultra platforms to firefly luciferase reporter gene assay kits (steadylite plus and britelite plus) and a new alternative to enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) - the AlphaLISA.
The new instruments include a new detection platform for high throughput screening (HTS) cellular assay - the 1536 Head LumiLux and the cell::explorer high content screening (HCS) workstation.
New software offerings include the Opera HCS system and Acapella 3D imaging and analysis tool for confocal microscopy as well as the Janus project manager system that integrates the Janus automated workstation with a variety of peripheral instruments.
Symantix has released two new software applications designed to process and analyse the huge volumes of data from re-sequencing projects conducted with second generation DNA sequencing platforms. The first application, SXOligoSearch, is designed for mapping micro-reads of 25 to 50 base pairs while SynaSearch has been optimised for reads generated from pyro-sequencing platforms.
Thermo Fisher Scientific has released a new range of Specular Reflectance accessories to complement the Evolution 300 and 600 UV-visible spectrophotometers. The new accessories provide a wide range of capabilities for material those interested in measuring the specular reflectance of solid materials with mirror-like or glossy surfaces.
