Activiotec has launched a new easy to use organic reactor, the PLS Organic Synthesiser that can perform up to 24 reactions simultaneously.
According to the company the wide selection of glass and Teflon reactors make the PLS the perfect choice for fast lead generation, reaction optimisation, process development and combinatorial catalysis.
The synthesiser can be used at temperatures ranging from 150ºC to -80ºC as well as allowing parallel washing to further enhance productivity.
Cyprotex has launched its new Cloe screen assay to improve the prediction of in vivo pharmacokinetics by assessing the extent to which a compound binds to liver microsomes.
By combining the data from the Cloe screen with microsomal stability data, improved predictions about the in vivo clearance of a compound as well as any potential drug-drug interactions can be made.
Bruker Daltonics, has introduced a unique TargetAnalysis system for multi-target screening from complex matrices, providing increased specificity and enhanced molecular formula determination.
TargetAnalysis is a library-based screening software solution that can screen hundreds of compounds from a single LC/ESI-TOF MS (liquid chromatography / electrospray ionisation - time-of-flight mass spectrometry) experiment.
"With the launch of TargetAnalysis, Bruker Daltonics opens up an exciting application area for our unique ESI-TOF micrOTOF and micrOTOF-Q systems. With this novel screening software, our customers can now automatically create their own application-specific accurate mass libraries, for example, for pesticides in food or in doping control," said Dr Ian Sanders, executive vice president of Bruker Daltonics.
Olympus has launched an upgraded version of its CellCut laser microdissection system, the CellCut Plus.
The new system incorporates an ultra high sensitivity digital camera, the CellCamera, for top-end fluorescence research as well as allowing Predefined Target Positioning (PTP) with the updated UV CutPlus software.
In addition, the instrument features a new single or multi-position plug & play automated CapLift system that uses a specially adapted microcentrifuge tube that allows the microdissected targets to be lifted away and isolated.
PerkinElmer has launched an updated software package, ExacTag version 2.0, for multiplexed quantitative protein expression profiling. The software upgrade offers powerful new data visualization and analysis tools, and is included with ExacTag Labeling Kits enabling simultaneous comparison of up to 10 samples using any tandem mass spectrometer.
"Multiplex protein labeling and detection coupled with a powerful, versatile Mass Spec analysis software package represent an essential toolset for protein research labs," said Dr. Richard Eglen, vice president and general manager, Discovery and Research Reagents for PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences.
Varian has released a new quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS) the 300-MS, for gas chromatography (GC) applications in high-throughput and routine laboratiories.
The instrument will be available as either a triple quadrupole MS or a single quadrupole that can be upgraded to a triple.
"We've made reliable research grade performance and capability available to cost-conscious laboratories," said Martin O'Donoghue, senior vice president of Scientific Instruments at Varian.
